Police Announce Arrests in Recent Galloway Business Burglaries

Two people from Connecticut have been charged, but police believe other suspects may still be at large.

Two people from Connecticut have been charged with breaking into multiple businesses in the township, Galloway Police said Tuesday afternoon.

Nicholas Provencher, 36, of Cheshire, and Stella Vassiliou, 31, of Waterbury, were charged with four counts of burglary, theft and for being in possession of burglary tools.

They were arrested late last night by Galloway Township police officers after a black Mazda 3 matching the description from earlier business burglaries was seen leaving the Leeds Point Shoppes parking lot at around 10:30 p.m.

Eventually, police obtained a search warrant and executed it on the suspects’ hotel room at the Casino Inn in Absecon. This allegedly lead to further evidence and the recovery of stolen property.

Provencher and Vassiliou have been charged with breaking into the following Galloway Township businesses:

-The Athenian Garden on Oct. 19;

-All Seasons Salon on Oct. 20;

-The Jewelry Box on Oct. 21; and

-Jo Jo’s Pizza on Oct. 21.

They were lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $50,000 full cash bail. Additional charges are pending further investigation.

Police are advising that they believe that Provencher and Vassiliou are only responsible for some of the township’s recent business burglaries.

Police believe that there are other individual(s) that are still on the loose that are responsible for several other unsolved burglaries.

Residents and business owners are reminded to remain vigilant.
