Protecting Special Fish Populations in the Delaware River

Hear Noted Author John Waldman Talk About his New Book and the Special Fish Populations of the Delaware River and Bay

June 19th at 6:30 at the Cherry Hill Public Library

One of the  many things that makes the Delaware River and Estuary so special is the home it provides to a variety of fish, turtles and terrapins, oysters and other important species.   Join us on June 19th at the Cherry
Hill Public Library to learn why these fish populations are so important and
get inspired to take action to better protect them!

Hear John Waldman, Professor of Biology at Queens College, CUNY and author of Running Silver:Restoring Atlantic Rivers and Their Great Fish Migrations describe the essential role fish play in the ecology of our seas and rivers and how the important spring migrations in rivers such as the Delaware are slowly disappearing.  Waldman shares his experiences working on restoration efforts in the field and steps to make the
Delaware River run silver with healthy fish populations once again.

The Nature Conservancy’s Green blog called Running Silver “a brilliant and heartbreaking book” and former U.S. Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt wrote that Running Silver is “A great read and important blueprint for action.”
