Somers Point Woman Sentenced in Theft of Over $400,000 From Car Dealership

Monica Schaffer admitted she stole $422,000 from the car dealership in which she was employed.

A 53-year-old Somers Point woman has been sentenced to four years in prison for the theft of over $400,000 from a car dealership in which she was employed, Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor said on Monday.

Monica Schaffer previously pleaded guilty to second-degree theft. She must also pay restitution of $422,000 to Avalon Honda, her employer.

She admitted to stealing more than $400,000 from the car dealership over a three-year period. She worked as a manager at the time of the thefts.
