4 Candidates Applied For Open Black Horse Pike School Board Seat

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Four candidates have filed applications for the vacant seat representing Gloucester Township on the Black Horse Pike Regional School District Board of Education, according to school officials.

The board of education will interview the four candidates at its board meeting on Feb. 20 at Highland Regional High School, according to Business Administrator Frank Rizzo. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. Highland Regional High School is located at 450 Erial Road in the Blackwood section of the township.

  • Charles W. Pildis II;
  • Kaitlyn Hutchison;
  • Angelo DeStefano; and
  • Theresa Habina McGlinchey.

Pildis is listed as a science teacher and assistant baseball coach at Glen Landing Middle School. He also ran for a seat on the Black Horse Pike Regional School District Board of Education in 2016.

DeStefano is the principal at Williamstown High School, according to his LinkedIn profile. He previously served as principal at Mercer County Technical School after serving for five years in Camden County Technical Schools in various roles.

Habina McGlinchey is the founder and chief learning partner at In It Together, LLC, according to her LinkedIn profile. In It Together is a program that promotes ownership of one's ability to grow to their potential; identify and grow their organization's expectations; and flourish in their findings and explorations, according to the organization's description. She is a Blackwood resident.

Whoever is appointed to the seat will serve through the Jan. 2021 reorganization meeting. An election for the seat will be held in November. The seat became open when Jill Dawson resigned because she is moving out of the district, according to school officials.

Seven seats on the school board are allocated to Gloucester Township residents. Board President Kevin McElroy represents Gloucester Township. Other board members representing the township currently listed on the website are Kevin Bucceroni, Joyce W. Ellis, Dawn Leary, Jay McMullin and Jennifer Storer.
