Art Re-Grants Available Through Camden County College

The grants are for county-based organizations with arts projects that will benefit the county.

Gloucester Township, NJ -- Re-grant funds are available for New Jersey 501 (c) (3) organizations, that are seeking support for a Camden County-based arts program, the Camden County Cultural and Heritage Commission at Camden County College announced this week.

General Operating Support (GOS) and Special Project Support (SPS) re-grants are available to applicant organizations that are incorporated in New Jersey as a non-profit organization or a unit of government.

Applicant organizations must be Camden County-based or have an arts project that will be measurably beneficial to the county.

Both GOS and SPS grants are 50/50 matching grants with at least one-half matched in cash.
Each organization can request up to $5,000 in funds.

“Each year, the Camden County Cultural and Heritage Commission at Camden County College provides funding to local organizations to support art and history,” Camden County Freeholder Deputy Director Ed McDonnell said. “I encourage groups that are keeping the arts alive in Camden County to contact the Cultural and Heritage Commission to learn more about the program.”

The freeholder board created the commission in 1972 to recognize and support the role of the arts and local history in making Camden County communities dynamic places to live and work, the commission said in a release.

As the designated County Arts Agency, the commission receives funding from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, to re-grant to local arts organizations and to provide services to aid in local arts development.

Applications are now available at www.camdencc.edu/Community/culturalandheritagecommission/index.cfm, or by contacting the Commission at 856-227-7200, ext. 4911.

The deadline to submit applications is Friday, Oct. 21, 3 p.m.
