Berlin-Cross Keys Rd. To Fully Close Again For Several Weeks
The 24/7 closure will have major impacts on commuters as Camden County completes work to widen the roadway.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Berlin-Cross Keys Road will fully close once again in a project expected to hamper commuters over the coming months.
Beginning Monday, there will be a one-way detour southbound to Turnersville Road in Pine Hill. But starting June 19, the well-traveled roadway will close in both directions during the final stages of Camden County's $6.9 million project that will ultimately widen the road.
The full closure will remain in place 24/7 until early August, according to county officials. Detours will be available on Kearsley and Turnersville roads in both directions.

The project will widen a 1.25-mile stretch of Berlin-Cross Keys Road to two lanes in either direction, with a center turning lane. The widening will encompass the area between Camden County Technical School's Gloucester Township campus (343 Berlin-Cross Keys Rd, Sicklerville) and Turnersville Road (Route 688). That includes portions of the roadway in Pine Hill, Gloucester Township and Winslow Township.
"Widening this road means that safety and efficiency will increase for motorists and pedestrians," County Commissioner Al Dyer said in a news release. "We realize there will be inconveniences during commutes for the next few months but the widening and reconstruction of this major thoroughfare is a worthwhile investment."

During the full closure, crews will complete milling, paving and other outstanding work. Officials shut down the roadway for several weeks during an earlier stage of the project late last year.
