Blackwood Man Charged In Fatal Atlantic City Expressway Crash
Luis Cream was charged in the crash that killed Jalina Steele last year.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ - A Blackwood man has been arrested and charged after police determined he was drunk when he caused an accident that killed a Camden woman last year.
Luis Cream, 36, is charged with second-degree vehicular homicide in the death of 32-year-old Jalina Steele, of Camden, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced on Thursday.
He was also charged with two counts of fourth-degree assault by auto for the crash that occurred on Nov. 19, 2017. The crash happened on the Atlantic City Expressway westbound at mile marker 23.9.

Cream’s Honda Pilot struck the back of a Honda Odyssey driven by Brenda Reyes, 35, of Sicklerville at 8:47 p.m. that night.
The Odyssey spun and struck a guardrail, and then moved back into the road before stopping. The Honda Pilot went through a guardrail, overturned and landed in a retention basin. Reyes and her passenger, Michael Holness, 35, of Sicklerville, suffered minor injuries.

Steele was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. Cream was also injured in the crash.
New Jersey State Police and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office conducted the investigation that determined Cream was drunk at the time of the crash. He was lodged in Atlantic County Justice Facility on Dec. 18. Cream’s detention hearing is scheduled for Monday Dec. 24.
