Mystic Ginger Apothecary Grand Opening Feb. 16 In Gloucester
Kellie D'Ascenzo, a township resident for 15 years, recently opened her first business in the township.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ - Mystic Ginger, the new Organic Salon and Herbal Apothecary, and Local Artist Boutique in Gloucester Township, will hold a grand opening ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 16, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Kellie D’Ascenzo has been a Gloucester Township resident for 15 years, but has many years experience in cosmetology in New York. She’s been doing hair for 12 years, and recently opened her new salon as her first business venture.
“I’m all about making the client feel good,” said D’Ascenzo, whose goal is to make the salon welcoming and relaxing. “People always say they feel like they’re at home. I wanted to create an alternative to the beauty industry.”

The establishment offers skin remedies, teas, and 20 local makers that specialize in pottery, jewelry and soaps. The artisans are all from the South Jersey and Philadelphia region.
She says she’s a certified herbalist and her salon is focused on the ingredients in all the products. In many ways, the salon would fit right in with the atmosphere in Cherry Hill or Marlton. D’Ascenzo said she wanted to bring some of that atmosphere to the township in which she lives.

“People told me I need to go out there, but I wanted to draw people into our township,” D’Ascenzo said.
She said it’s a perfect fit for the township’s plans to revitalize the arts district. Read more here: Rutgers-Camden Student Inspires Food Truck And Craft Beer Festival.
