Roving SRO Is Teacher For Gloucester Township Police Academy

Cpl. Michael Trabosh joined the Gloucester Township Police Department in 1999.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — In the aftermath of a shooting that killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, there has been a lot of discussion about armed police officers in schools, and even arming teachers, in schools.

The Gloucester Township Police Department has been introducing the public to its School Resource Officers (SRO), and Patch is featuring their profiles. Today's profile is of Michael Trabosh.

"Cpl. Michael Trabosh attended Gloucester County College majoring in Criminal Justice," the Gloucester Township Police Department said. "He became a Class 1 Special for the Gloucester Township Police Department in 1999. In 2000, he was then hired as a full-time officer and assigned to the Patrol division. In 2016, he was assigned as a Roving School Resource Officer. He is currently assigned to Glen Landing Middle School, Glendora, Loring Flemming, and Chews Elementary Schools. He is also an instructor at the Gloucester Township Police Junior Police Academy in the summer. In the summer he also does community outreach with other school resource officers and attends different community events. In his free time he enjoys going down the shore with his family and enjoys playing sports."
