Fiery Crash Kills Person In Burlington County: Police
A collision caused both vehicles to run off the roadway and strike several trees, authorities said.
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A car caught on fire and the driver was killed in a crash Sunday afternoon in Burlington County, according to State Police.
State troopers responded to the two-vehicle crash at 3:33 p.m. on Route 542 in Washington Township — a small town in southern Burlington County.
The vehicles were traveling eastbound, authorities said. A Ford Mustang rear-ended a Ford F-350, causing both to run off the roadway to the right and hit several trees, according to the preliminary investigation from State Police.

After impact, the Ford Mustang became fully engulfed in flames, according to State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron. The driver sustained fatal injuries from the crash, according to police.
Police are still working to confirm the Mustang driver's identity as of late Monday morning.

No other injuries were reported.
The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information was available as of this writing.
Several fatal collisions were reported last weekend in South Jersey. A 16-year-old girl died in a crash Friday night in Deptford, and a 22-year-old was pronounced dead after a three-vehicle collision that night in Voorhees, authorities said.
