Timber Creek Football Team Opens Season With Win In Illinois
The Chargers opened the season with a win over Belleville West (IL), according to nj.com.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Timber Creek Regional High School football team began the 2017 season in unfamiliar surroundings, but the end result was nothing new for the Chargers.
Timber Creek defeated Belleville West (IL), 35-21, in the Gateway Scholars Classic at East St. Louis High School in Illinois on Saturday. Devin Leary threw three touchdown passes in the win, according to nj.com.
He connected with Jayvin Little on a 63-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter; he hit Tarheeb Still with a 47-yard pass for a score in the third; and capped the scoring with an 8-yard strike to Kyle Dobbins in the fourth.

Dobbins also scored on a 5-yard touchdown run, and Michael Johnson scored on an 82-yard kickoff return for a score. Dobbins was making his Timber Creek debut after transferring from St. Augustine Prep in the offseason.
Timber Creek picked up where it left off last season, when it went 12-0 and won the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 4 championship.

Timber Creek has been reclassified into South Jersey Group 3. The Chargers return to New Jersey next week to host Delsea on Friday night, 7 p.m.
