Timber Creek QB Sets State Passing Record In Thanksgiving Day Football Win

Gloucester Township, NJ -- Timber Creek Regional High School junior Devin Leary set the state record for passing touchdowns in a season in the Chargers football team's 48-12 win over Winslow Township on Thanksgiving Day, nj.com reports.
Leary threw five touchdown passes to reach 45. Somerville’s Ryan Canty and Pennsauken’s Manny Cortez previously shared the record with 43 in 2001 and 2011, respectively, according to the report.
Leary tied the record with an 8-yard touchdown pass to Ezrah Archie with 27 seconds left in the first half, and broke it with a 42-yard touchdown pass to Blaine Shade in the third quarter.

Archie had his second touchdown reception of the game, an 11-yarder, with 9:52 left in the game.
Leary also threw two long touchdown passes to Dante Waugh-Hill, a 64-yarder and an 85-yarder.

Harold Coleman also scored for Timber Creek, on a 25-yard run. Jake Kolbe capped the scoring with an 8-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Timber Creek improved to 11-0, setting up its showdown of unbeatens with Lenape in the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 4 championship game next weekend.
Lenape improved to 11-0 with a 31-10 win over Shawnee on Thanksgiving, according to nj.com.
Top-seeded Lenape will face No. 2 Timber Creek in the championship game at Rowan University on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2:30 p.m.
