Timber Creek Regional High School football player Kareem Ali officially signed his letter of intent to play at Temple University on Wednesday, according to nj.com.

Ali had 856 yards and six touchdowns offensively, and made 45 tackles and picked off two passes on defense last season. Owlsports.com has him listed as a defensive back.

He originally decided he was going to play at Maryland, but changed his mind and chose to play for the Owls last summer, according to the report.

Timber Creek was 11-1, and advanced to the South Jersey Group IV final last season.

Ali joins Greg Webb, a Timber Creek alum who played at Hutchinson Community College last year and changed his commitment from Rutgers in December.

Temple’s Class of 2015 features a total of five South Jersey football players, including Millville’s Ryquell Armstead, Vineland’s Jeremiah Atoki and Haddonfield’s Jake Robinson.

Temple was 6-6 last season.

Ali was a top 50 NJ prospect by nj.com.
