A video captured a New Jersey corrections officer twice assaulting an inmate, who is now suing because of the incident.
The video was obtained by NJ Advance Media (see below), and was recorded in February 2015 when Raheem Jacobs was being held at the jail for weapons charges, obstruction, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.
A lawsuit filed against Cumberland County on March 18 alleges five corrections officers beat up Jacobs, according to the report.

The corrections officers seen in the video were all given disciplinary actions, and officer Mike Williams, who was shown striking Jacobs, was charged criminally for assault, according to the report.
In the video, a corrections officer is seen going through Jacobs's belonging. Jacobs is then seen putting on his orange jumpsuit and then being hit twice by a corrections officer. Jacobs is then taken away.

On the PBA Local 231's Facebook page, which represents the officers, the union released this statement:
"Corrections is a fickle field and no one knows better then those behind the wall. Alleged is a good word to describe the half story displayed. You learn in this field quickly that few are for you and many against including the powers that be who's only concern is clearing their name. Corrections a job like no other without parity to other law enforcement agencies."
Here is the video:
"Most inmates are not dangerous just made mistakes, but you also have those that would not hesitate to take the life of an officer," he said. "These officers are trying to make an honest living for their families in a place of possible dangerous incidents daily."
