Who Will Run For Mayor, Council In Gloucester Township In 2017?
Three people filed to run for mayor, and nine people filed to run for council by Monday's deadline.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Gloucester Township Mayor David Mayer and the incumbent members of council will have two obstacles en route to re-election this year.
A total of three people filed petitions to run for mayor, and nine people filed petitions to run for council by Monday’s deadline to file for the June 6 primaries.
Mayer faces a challenge in the Democratic Primary from Samuel E. Sweet.

Incumbent council members Dan Hutchison and Michelle Winters are running for re-election. Councilman Franklin Schmidt opted not to run for re-election.
Scott D. Owens, Barbara L. Rojas, David T. Johnson and Christopher J. Pandolfo are all Democrats who also filed to run for the three, four-year seats.

Republican Rhoda D. Montana filed a petition to run for mayor. Peter D. Heinbaugh, Jennifer O’Donnell and Frank J. Radisch III filed to run for council seats as Republicans. All four Republicans will run unopposed in their respective primaries.
June 6 is also the deadline to file to run for office as an independent.
The general elections are Nov. 7.
