• Off-duty officer saves goalie who went into cardiac arrest before hockey game (abc7ny.com) — An off-duty Oradell police officer playing in a hockey league at Hackensack’s Ice House saved a fellow goalie who suddenly went into cardiac arrest before a game. Using CPR and an AED, Officer Frank Stefano revived the unresponsive player, who is now recovering in the hospital and credited Stefano’s quick actions with saving his life.
   

• Former NJ Police Captain Attacked Victim During 'Dispute': Prosecutor (patch.com) — A former Palisades Park police captain is accused of assaulting someone during a dispute, and his case is now headed to Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack. Authorities say the incident, reportedly captured on cellphone video, led to his arrest and an aggravated assault charge, with the suspect currently awaiting a detention hearing at the county courthouse.
