Liquor Shoplifter Had Hydrocodone, Cops Say
Hackettstown resident arrested twice in less than two weeks, police report.

A 21-year-old Hackettstown man was arrested for shoplifting from a liquor store and was found to be in possession of dangerous substances Tuesday, Hackettstown Police said.
Patrol responded to Shoprite Liquors at 80 Main Street to report of shoplifting at 3:36 p.m. Tuesday, Sgt. Darren Tynan said. When officers arrived on scene, they found Erik Mitchell hiding a bottle of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum ($26.99) and a bottle of Captain Morgan Spice Run ($21.99) in his coat, Tynan said.
During the investigation, police found Mitchell to be in possession of eight hydrocodone pills, Tynan said.

Mitchell was charged with shoplifting and possession of a controlled dangerous substance Tuesday. He was unable to post the $3,500 bail and lodged in the Warren County Correctional Facility.
