Local Spellers Head to Regional Competition
Three Hackettstown-area residents look to continue journey to national tournament.

Three students from the Hackettstown area are heading to the 27th annual regional final of the Scripps National Spelling Bee on Thursday, and will face off against a field of 45 more vocabulary experts, according to lehighvalleylive.com.
The competition will see students from Northampton, Lehigh, Warren and Hunterdon counties give it their all for a chance to compete in one of the year’s most popular academic challenges.
According to the report, Jacob DeGregoris of Great Meadows Middle School; Kayezhia Alviola of Hackettstown Middle School; and Shannon Vitale of Mansfield Township Elementary School will represent the Hackettstown area.

The event is being held at Northampton Community College at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
