Warren County ACME To Sell Narcan Prescription Free
The overdose reversing nasal spray will be available at the Warren County pharmacy location.

WARREN COUNTY, NJ— ACME will begin selling Narcan nasal spray in pharmacy locations across New Jersey, the company announced Monday.
Narcan (generic name naloxone) is an opioid overdose reversing nasal spray. When used in an emergency, it can revive someone suffering from an overdose until they can receive more intensive medical attention.
ACME currently sells the drug in its' Pennsylvania locations. A total of 96 ACME pharmacies will carry the medicine.

Information about proper usage, risk factors, signs of an opioid overdose and rescue breathing will be given when the drug is sold, according to a press release.
“The opioid and heroin epidemic cannot be ignored,” said Debi Strunk-Ross, Patient Care Services manager for ACME Markets. “By stocking Narcan nasal spray in our pharmacies, we hope to give our communities — the family, friends, loved ones and caregivers of those struggling with addiction — a tool that might help prevent the avoidable loss of a loved one.”

There are currently one ACME pharmacy in Warren County, in Blairstown (152 Route 94).
ACME is the latest New Jersey business to sell Narcan over the counter. CVS began selling it in 2015 and Walgreens started last year.
