Garden Named After Former Haddonfield Student

HADDONFIELD, NJ —A dedication ceremony was recently held for the Sarah Tarditi-Gallagher Garden on the campus of Haddonfield Memorial High School, the Haddonfield Public School District said.

Gallagher was a 1994 graduate of Haddonfield Memorial High School who died of leukemia in 2007. She was 31 years old.

The Sarah Tarditi-Gallagher Garden is part of a project spanning several years that spruced up the Haddonfield Memorial High School campus, the school district said. It is located at in the area between the A and C wings that which once served as a small parking lot, the school district said.

The other parts of the sprucing-up project were the stadium courtyard, the A-wing courtyard and the entry gardens on Kings Highway, according to the district.

Numerous fundraisers supported the overall project's $200,000+ price tag, including a legacy walk, golf tournament, alumni barbecue, as well as donors supporting sitting walls, signage, benches, trees, pavers and bricks, the district said.

"We were very fortunate to be supported by some generous people who represented ad hoc
committees," said Joseph Serico, the project's planner and the president of the Haddonfield Memorial High School Alumni Association.
