Haddon Township Pride Parade, Events Return After Wildfire-Smoke Delay
Originally set for June, the events were pushed because of air-quality issues. Festivities will run over the next 2 days.
HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ — Four months after smoke from the Canada wildfires delayed Pride celebrations, rainbows will shine in Haddon Township.
Haddon Township Pride has returned, with festivities taking place Thursday and Friday.
The events, including a parade, were originally slated for Pride Month in June. But air-quality concerns stemming from the wildfires in eastern Canada prompted organizers to postpone.

Festivities will begin Thursday evening with the parade and after-party. Progress Community Night will follow on Friday.
HT Pride is organized by the Haddon Township Equity Initiative.

Here's what's happening in Haddon Township:
HT Pride Parade + After Party
Thursday, 6-10 p.m., on Haddon Avenue
The parade will feature LGBTQIA+ and LGBTQIA+-friendly performers, organizations and volunteers. The route begins at the corner of Crystal Lake and Haddon Avenues and ends at Haddon Square.
The after-party at Haddon Square will feature music, dancing, entertainment, food and drinks.
HT Pride + Community Progress Night
Friday, 5-9:30 p.m., at Haddon Square
Friday's event honors LGBTQIA+ Pride in all forms, according to the event listing.
"Celebrate the progress made by LGBTQIA+ trailblazers and learn about LGBTQIA+ history, while joined by local LGBTQIA+-friendly vendors and allies," HT Pride's website says.
The event will include drag queen lip-sync battles, performances by Iris Spectre and more.
