Haddonfield, Haddon Among Best NJ Towns To Live In, Report Says

See how Niche graded Haddonfield and Haddon Township in its NJ report card.

If you live in either Haddonfield or Haddon Township and were thinking about moving, you might want to think twice: a new report says there’s almost no place in the state that’s better to live.

Niche has come out with its new 2019 rankings of the "Best Places to Live" in New Jersey, but for at least the third year in a row, it took a bit of a unique approach: The consumer rankings service assigned a grade, on an A+-to-D- scale, to almost every town in the state.

Haddonfield was among 60 towns in the state that received an A+ in the new rankings. Haddon Township received an A- in the rankings.

To arrive at the rankings, Niche.com took several factors into consideration, such as the quality of local schools, crime rates, housing trends, employment statistics and access to amenities.

Niche created a standardized score for each factor, and after weighting each factor, an overall score was calculated, which was again given a new standardized score.

Finally, Niche.com created a numerical ranking and assigned grades for each place. Click here to read more about the methodology.

Haddonfield received an A+ for public schools and being a good for families. It got a B+ for housing and nightlife, a B for crime and safety and a B- for diversity.

According to Niche:
“Living in Haddonfield offers residents a suburban feel and most residents own their homes. In Haddonfield there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Many retirees live in Haddonfield and residents tend to lean conservative. The public schools in Haddonfield are highly rated.”

Haddon Township received an A for nightlife and an A- for being good for families. It got a B for public schools and a B- for housing and diversity. For crime and safety, it got a C+.

According to Niche:

“Living in Haddon Township offers residents a suburban feel and most residents own their homes. In Haddon Township there are a lot of restaurants, coffee shops, and parks. Many young professionals and retirees live in Haddon Township and residents tend to lean conservative. The public schools in Haddon Township are above average.”
