Haddonfield Receives $27K Grant For Tree Planting
The Stewardship Grant will be used for the 2019 Spring Planting Program.

HADDONFIELD, NJ — Haddonfield has received a $27,000 Stewardship Grant from the New Jersey Forest Service’s Urban and Community Forestry Program, borough officials announced on Tuesday. The money will be used for the 2019 Spring Planting Program.
Each year, the borough removes about 200 street trees due to disease, insects and failure for other reasons, according to officials.
“We lose a large number of trees every year,” Haddonfield Commissioner John Moscatelli said. “This grant is a huge boost to the citizens of Haddonfield who will benefit greatly over time from the shade provided by the 85 new trees we will plant next spring.”
