Manhunt After South Jersey Deli Owner Killed: Cops
Jerome Pastore was fatally stabbed at the Shamrock Delicatessen, which he owned, in Audubon on Friday, police said.

HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ — The owner of a South Jersey deli was killed while reportedly chasing a man who stole from the deli's change jar, authorities announced.
Jerome Pastore, 52 of West Berlin, was killed when he was stabbed at the Shamrock Delicatessen on Davis Avenue in Audubon on Friday, Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Haddon Township Police Chief Mark Cavallo announced. Pastore was the owner of the diner.
Oaklyn, Audubon and Haddon Township Police responded to the diner at about 4:50 p.m. on Jan. 3 for multiple reports of a man who had been stabbed, police said on Saturday.

Arriving officers found Pastore across the street from the diner, on Cuthbert Boulevard, suffering from apparent stab wounds. Pastore was taken to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries at 5:07 p.m.

Sources told 6 ABC Pastore was stabbed after he confronted a man who attempted to steal the tip jar from his deli. The confrontation occurred outside.

On Friday night, police had secured the area outside a home in Haddon Township where a glove was found on the front lawn, according to the Courier Post.
