Missing Haddon Township War Vet Found Deceased: Police
William Smith Jr. was reported missing on Oct. 21.

HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A military combat veteran from Haddon Township who was reported missing about two weeks ago has been found deceased in Philadelphia, authorities announced.
William Smith, Jr., 47, was last seen leaving his home on Addison Avenue in Haddon Township at about 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21 He was alone, and police believed at the time that he may be in the Germantown section of Philadelphia.
On Wednesday, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Haddon Township Police Chief Mark Cavallo reported that his body had been found in Philadelphia. They said there was nothing suspicious about his death, and they released no further details.

When the prosecutor’s office initially announced that he was missing, it said he may be at risk. His sister, Kelsey Cobain, told nj.com he was in counseling because he recently lost both his father and his wife. He was also suffering from PTSD and other issues related to combat.
