Statewide Exposure For Historical Landmark In Camden County
The historical landmark is the focus of an episode of the PBS series "Treasures of New Jersey," according to PBS' website.

LAWNSIDE, NJ — The historic Peter Mott House is the focus of an episode of the PBS series "Treasures of New Jersey," a PBS-affiliated website stated.
The structure in Lawnside served as a stop on the Underground Railroad for slaves trying to escape their masters for approximately 25 years until the Emancipation proclamation, Lawnside Historical Society President Linda Shockley told Patch.
In line with the theme of "Treasures of New Jersey," the Peter Mott House episode uses historical documents, photos and interviews to explain what makes the building an important part of Garden State history.

Shockley told Patch that she hoped viewers of the episode "see and appreciate the wonderful gift we have in the Peter Mott House Underground Railroad Museum."
The building is a "monument to the heroism of African people who claimed their freedom for themselves and their families and to the courageous people like the Reverend Mott and his wife Elizabeth Ann who risked their own lives and livelihoods to help them," she added.
