Possible Cannabis Business Locations In Haddon Twp. Still Undecided
The township commissioners asked its zoning and planning board to find potentially suitable places for cannabis businesses to set up shop.
HADDON, NJ — The Haddon Township Planning Board did not vote to send a recommendation to the township commissioners on where cannabis businesses could set up shop within the municipality, the township's mayor told Patch.
The Haddon Township Board of Commissioners had asked the planning board earlier this year to review such recommendations.
Gregory Fusco said at a May 5 planning board meeting that one possible location is a zone called C3, which covers commercial property the township owns along the Black Horse Pike/state Route 168. He added that another possible location is a zone called LI, which covers light industrial property near U.S. Route 130/Crescent Boulevard.

However, at the next planning board meeting on June 2, the board "did not vote on a cannabis recommendation," Haddon Mayor Randall W. Teague told Patch in a June 5 interview.
Any decision the planning board makes is not binding on the township commissioners, according to the planning board solicitor. Ultimately, it's up to the commissioners to decide the zoning districts where cannabis companies can conduct business within the municipality's borders.

Teague added that the commissioners "will await the planning board recommendation," which he said is expected no later than the end of August.
The township planning board's next scheduled meeting is Thursday.
