Regional Energy Efficiency Summit In Haddonfield Jan. 22

Attendees will learn how to reduce energy use at home, in the workplace, and at the municipal level.

HADDONFIELD, NJ — The inaugural Energy Efficiency Summit for Burlington, Camden and Gloucester county residents will take place in Haddonfield later this month, organizers announced.

TriCounty Sustainability Alliance and Sustainable Jersey will present the free summit on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 6 p.m. at Haddonfield Borough Hall, 242 Kings Highway East. Attendees will learn how to reduce energy use at home, in the workplace, and at the municipal level.

Managing energy use has a significant impact on the environment and saves a lot of money, organizers said. Residents, businesses and local government managers are invited to learn specific actions that they can take to cut costs and lower their carbon footprint.

Speakers at the event will include resource providers who can offer options and financial incentives for energy upgrades, and community leaders from the region who have successful projects to share.

“The Energy Efficiency Summit will help us make progress toward the goal of a more sustainable and resilient New Jersey,” Sustainable Jersey Executive Director Randall Solomon said. “Sustainable Jersey is working with our 450 participating municipalities and 863 schools to provide the help they need to drive down energy costs and emissions and help meet the State's energy goals. Strong leadership at the local level, and individuals stepping forward to make changes in their lives, will advance climate action so that New Jersey can meet more ambitious targets moving forward toward a low-carbon future.”

Speakers include: New Jersey Board of Public Utilities Commissioner Dianne Solomon, Nancy Quirk (Energy Program Manager, Sustainable Jersey), Anthony O’Donnell (New Jersey Clean Energy Program/TRC Solutions), Patrick McDevitt (Energy Efficiency Manager, South Jersey Gas), Marcello DeFeo (Owner/Chef, Haddonfield’s Valente’s Italian Specialities, a green-certified business), and Oaklyn Green Team Chair and resident, Sean Mohen.
