Rite Aid is opening a self-swab testing site for new coronavirus at its store in Barrington on Monday.

CAMDEN COUNTY, NJ — Rite Aid is opening a self-swab testing site for new coronavirus at its store in Barrington on Monday, store officials announced. The store is located at 501 Clements Bridge Road in Barrington.

The testing site will make use of self-swab tests, administered in the store’s parking lot and overseen by Rite Aid pharmacists. Rite Aid expects to be able to conduct more than 200 tests daily from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Those being tested will remain in their cars throughout the duration of testing. Patients are required to provide government issued identification, be at least 18 years old and need to pre-register online at www.riteaid.com in order to schedule a time slot for testing

"Expanding COVID-19 testing is critical to our response to this pandemic. Without smart data we cannot not combat this virus and are blind to its impact on our community," Camden County Freeholder Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. said. "I want to thank Rite Aid for stepping up to the plate and creating another outlet for testing in our county and the region. Moving forward on Monday, this store site will compliment the county's two other mobile test sites and the hard work being done by our primary healthcare providers."

Rite Aid has partnered with Verily and will use its Baseline COVID-19 Program to provide screening, scheduling, and return of results to participants for Rite-Aid testing sites.

Rite Aid also selected BioReference Laboratories to provide COVID-19 laboratory testing to all drive-up locations with the goal of flattening the curve through accessible diagnostic testing.

In addition to the Southern New Jersey location, Rite Aid announced six other testing sites opening on Monday across Michigan, Ohio and New York. Through its partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the company plans to further expand COVID-19 testing locations in the coming weeks at stores in key hot spots, including Delaware, Idaho, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Clinical oversight for the coronavirus testing program is provided by PWNHealth, a national clinician network that enables safe and easy access to diagnostic testing.
