Haddonfield Fireworks Status TBD, Yankee Doodle Do Is On Rain Or Shine
The Fourth of July fireworks, scheduled for Monday night, can't go off in the rain and won't have a rescheduled date.

Correction: An earlier version of this story included incorrect information from the borough on the Yankee Doodle Do event. The Yankee Doodle Do is rain or shine, while the fireworks cannot go off in the rain.
HADDONFIELD, NJ — The Independence Day fireworks in Haddonfield, scheduled for Monday night, don't have a rain date if they get canceled because of weather. So officials will continue to watch the forecast before making a decision, a borough spokesperson told Patch.
Haddonfield's Fourth of July slate begins with the Yankee Doodle Doo — an evening of games, a moon bounce and food trucks beginning at 5 p.m. Monday. Then, fireworks launch at dusk (around 9:05 p.m.). Both events take place on Kings Highway, from Grove to Haddonfield High School.

The Yankee Doodle Doo will happen rain or shine, but the fireworks can't go off if it's raining.
Severe thunderstorms could hit the area Monday afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service. The agency's greatest window of concern is 3-9 p.m., when there's a "slight" chance of severe storms hitting the region. The primary threats include localized flash flooding, large hail and damaging gusts up to 60 mph.

Borough officials haven't canceled any Independence Day events as of 10 a.m. Monday, but they continue to monitor the forecast. Decisions in similar situations have taken until midday because of unpredictable forecasts, says Haddonfield spokesperson Joana McDonnell.
"Nobody really wants to cancel it, so we wait," McDonnell told Patch.
Meanwhile, Haddon Township's celebration, which includes fireworks, is slated for 7-10 p.m. Monday at the township's high school football stadium. But the event has a rain date of Wednesday if necessary.
Haddonfield is consulting with the Camden County Office of Emergency Management, which is working several Independence Day events Monday around the county.
The borough's parade is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 4th — on Kings Highway, starting at Chestnut Street. There's a growing chance of scattered thunderstorms hitting the region that day, the National Weather Service says.
As soon as Haddonfield cancels any events, officials promise to alert the public through several means, including the Haddonfield app, social-media blasts, and canceling the Facebook event. Patch will alert readership, as well.
