Athletic Facilities May See Some Improvements Soon
Board of education looks into getting a new score board for the old gym, field gets some maintenance work done

Some of the district’s athletic facilities are going to get some improvements soon.
trustee Connie Doheney told the audience at the meeting Wednesday night that the board is looking into the purchase of a new scoreboard for the old high school gym. The board is about 30 years old and is on “it’s last legs” and Doheney said it would be too costly to repair it.
The board is looking for sponsors and will also seek out the recreation department to see if they are able to help offset costs.

In addition there is landscaping work being done at Depken Field. Work is also being done to repair the “HH” sign on the rocks and the light at the field, Doheney said.
The board is also considering the sale of athletic cards which would work like season tickets and make attending all home games more affordable for parents. Doheney said it would cost about $30 for the season, and $10 for students and seniors. Card holders would actually save on the cost of about two to three games per season, she explained.
