Board of Education Grants HS Seniors 3-Day 'Open Lunch' Trial
Members of the senior class executive board petitioned the board with this request last month.

The granted the high school seniors students’ request to dine out for lunch during the school day for a three-day trial period this month.
Prior to the voting on the resolution to allow this “open lunch” trial, Board President Josephine Ciocia brought Meron Aberha, the student leader of the senior executive board, to the front of the room to formally let him know that the board decided to grant their request.
Ciocia told him the dates will be announced and students will need permission slips to leave the building for this lunch hour.

At the November board meeting Aberha and fellow members of the senior executive board petitioned the Board of Education with a request that high school senior students be allowed to dine out during their lunch break for a three-day trial period the week before the holiday break.
Aberha had told the board last month that the senior class executive board came up with this idea thinking that it would be a nice experience for them to remember of their high school years.
