DPW Completes Leaf Removal and Readies Snow Plows for the Winter Season
Two trucks have been partially rebuilt and repaired

The borough’s DPW has completed the leaf collection process for the season and is now getting ready for the winter season by having the entire snow plowing fleet checked by department mechanics.
Councilman David Gonzalez, commissioner of streets and sanitation, reported that those who may still have leaves can still have them picked up provided the leaves are bagged or in a container and placed on the curb to be collected on branch collection day. He advised homeowners to check their recycling calendar for the schedule.
The DPW has also completed leaf removal to all borough parks and the traffic circle at the Boulevard and will begin leaf clean up to Woodland Park next week, Councilwoman Sonya Buckman stated in her report.

In addition to checking all the snow plowing vehicles, two trucks had their dump bodies, which were damaged by rust and erosion, rebuilt and repaired by DPW mechanics, Gonzalez reported.
Gonzalez also reminded residents that when garbage is not collected on a borough holiday such as this past Monday, the next pick up will not be until the next scheduled pick up day for that zone. In the case of Zone 1 garbage was not collected on Monday this week due to the holiday and will next be collected this Thursday which is the next scheduled day for that zone.

Gonzalez said he noticed several homes with garbage on the curb on Tuesday and wanted to remind residents of how the collection cycle works.
