Republican Pamela Link Seeks Second Term on Council

Lifelong resident and active member of the community, Link seeks re-election Nov. 8 with her running mates Justin DiPisa and Mayor Rose Heck.

Republican Councilwoman Pamela Link strongly believes in giving back to the town she loves. The lifelong resident who has been an active member of the community since she was a young girl, seeks re-election to a second term on the council on Nov. 8.

Growing up the daughter of Councilman Andrew Link III, Link says she knew everything about her hometown from a young age. She got involved early and by the time she graduated high school she was named treasurer of the Republican Club in town.

She went on to serve on various committees and became president of the Board of Health. Link says she enjoyed the work she did but in 2007 she realized it was time to come forward and do something as she was unhappy about the way things were being run when Democrats had a majority on the council.

“I just felt it was the right time to come up front and take back our town and keep it going in the right direction,” Link said.

Finance is Link’s forte. Professionally she has an extensive financial background as vice president of Boiling Springs Savings Bank. She helped lead the financial committees efforts to keep taxes in check during a tough budget year in which the borough faced many challenges from loss of state aid, decreased investments and no new ratables coming into town.

Link says the borough continuously look for ways to save money, shared services being one of them. She says that the borough has been taking part in shared services for about 75 years by supplying fire services for  nearby Teterboro. In addition the borough's 9/11 dispatch system is shared with two nearby towns and the borough just recently made an agreement with Lodi which saves the borough $10,000.

“We are always here for the people and we want to see people come out. We are more than willing to hear their thoughts,” Link said.
