PSE&G Installing Pole-Attached Solar Units in Town
Solar units will generate green energy into PSE&G grid

Many people may be wondering what those solar panels are which have been installed to many of the utility poles around the town.
Borough Administrator Mike Kronyak says PSE&G has installed these solar units as a way for the utility company to generate green energy into its grid.
Kronyak said he had inquired with PSE&G officials as to whether there would be a cost reduction for the electricity the borough uses for street lights but was told that is not the case.

According to the PSE&G website the installation of solar panels is part of the neighborhood portion of its Solar 4 All program. PSE&G is adding these solar panels to the utility poles to more than 300 towns of which it serves.
The site says that the solar power the units generate helps replace some of the fossil fuel electric generation. It also helps the utility company meets its requirement to help the nation become less dependent on foreign energy sources, according to the site.
