Road Resurfacing Project Completed, Next Steps Discussed
Borough still waits for County to resurface the Boulevard

The were just recently completed and soon borough officials can begin considering which roads will be attended to next as part of the borough’s ongoing road resurfacing program.
The borough has a officials have reported previously. Capital improvement funds were put aside for this project last year but the project did not get underway until this year. Six roads at the top of the list were chosen for resurfacing as Borough Engineer Ken Job had reported that those showed the most need. Waiting longer could be more costly as continued wear and tear could require the roads to be entirely ripped up and rebuilt.
Job reported Tuesday that the resurfacing has been completed over the past few weeks and now some striping work is being done. The roads that were resurfaced are: Division Avenue from the Boulevard to Terrace, the entire length of Field Avenue/Third Street, Kipp from Terrace to Oldfield, Oldfield from Franklin to Washington Place and two areas of Passaic Avenue – from Terrace to the Dead End and Burr Place to the Dead End.

The borough is also still waiting on the county to repave the Boulevard and put in new curb ramps. As the county is now reconstructing every curb ramp to comply with the state’s policy that the ramps much be complaint with the American Disabilities Act (ADA) most of its planned projects have been postponed until next year.
Although a timeframe has not given, Job believes the project will be slated for next spring.
