Additionally, any unfinished work from 2024 due to weather will begin as soon as the weather warms. It is now waiting for rebid.
Work on Brown Road is also nearing completion. And Auten Road from Triangle to the railroad track will also be milled and paved the week of Spring Break.
Route 206 Update
At the Committee meeting, Mayor John Ciccarelli also provided an update on the Route 206 project.
Ciccarelli said the Township will be having a face-to-face meeting with the New Jersey Department of Transportation(NJDOT) in May.
In the meantime, the NJDOT is in the planning phases of a maintenance roadway resurfacing contract which will repave Route 206 from Oxford Place to Hamilton Road, said Ciccarelli.
Work is expected to begin in 2026.
The township is also working on the design documents to replace the pedestrian bridge by Hillsborough Point Condos.
"Right now this bridge replacement is looking to be completed by the fall of this year so I anticipate this bridge will not be available through the summer," said Ciccarelli.
Following the Committee meeting, Ciccarelli released an "Ask the Mayor" video sharing an update on Wednesday of work being done on Route 206.
On Wednesday morning, Ciccarelli reported that NJDOT's Contractor Roman Asphalt is putting down the first layer of subbase, which is part of the paving work for Route 206.
Workers could be seen working from Valley Road to the jughandle on the north side towards Camplain Road.
"I love the smell of asphalt in the morning," said Ciccarelli. "We look forward to more updates and more progress from the state."
