199-Unit Multi-Family Residential Complex Proposed In Hillsborough
The townhouse complex and apartment building project is being proposed on a 45-acre lot along Valley Road in Hillsborough Township.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A major housing project is being proposed in Hillsborough.
The application, filed by Valley Road Realty LLC, is seeking to build 25 buildings on a 45.025-acre lot off Valley Road in the Township.
"The proposed residential development will deliver 199 dwelling units with a 21.6 percent set aside for income-restricted units, to help the municipality meet its legal obligations for affordable housing," according to the application.

The proposed buildings range in size, with four to eight units per townhouse building, including garages, a 59-unit apartment building, and a clubhouse.
There will be 140 market-rate townhouse units in 23 buildings.

There will be 59 multifamily units in one apartment building, of which 16 will be market-rate, and 43 will be affordable-rate income-restricted.

The application was originally going to be heard by the Planning Board on June 11. However, the applicant requested to carry the matter to the July 9 meeting.
At the meeting last week, Planning Board Attorney Eric Bernstein read a letter from Alexander Fisher of the firm of Savo, Schalk, Corsini, Warner, Gillespie, O'Grodnick & Fisher dated June 1.
"The applicant requested that the first hearing for the application be rescheduled to the July 9th board meeting. We will notice for that meeting."
The application is now scheduled to return to the Planning Board on July 9 at 7 p.m. and the time of decision has been extended to Sept. 11.
