2 Liquor Licenses Open For Bidding In Hillsborough Township

One Plenary Retail Distribution Liquor License and one Plenary Retail Consumption Liquor License are up for sale at a minimum of $350K each.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough Township is looking to sell two more liquor licenses at a minimum price of $350,000 each.

The Hillsborough Township Committee passed two resolutions authorizing the sale of two liquor licenses at its Feb. 13 meeting.

The Plenary Retail Distribution Liquor License is for establishments that wish to sell packaged goods, such as with a liquor store.

A Plenary Retail Consumption Liquor License is for establishments that will be serving alcoholic beverages, such as a restaurant or bar.

The initial bid for both licenses is $350,000.

"This is another opportunity to generate revenue for Hillsborough Township and also attract new businesses," said Mayor Robert Britting, Jr..

Hillsborough Township is currently authorized to issue five distribution licenses, of which one is available. Of the 14 consumption licenses allowed by the Township, two are available.

The Township previously put two liquor licenses up for bid in May 2023. The township authorized the sale of one Plenary Retail Distribution Liquor License to Ravina Ghotra for $410,000 and one Plenary Retail Consumption Liquor License to AMA Cucina, LLC, for $355,000 at the July 18, 2023 Committee meeting.

Interested parties in the two liquor licenses should submit their sealed bids to the Hillsborough Township Clerk’s Office by April 4 at 11 a.m. For more information, see the Township's
