88 Affordable Townhome Units Approved For Hillsborough
The development is part of a settlement agreement between M&M Realty and Hillsborough as part of the affordable housing plan.
HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A new 88-unit housing development off Camplain Road was approved by the Hillsborough Township Planning Board on Thursday to help meet the township's affordable housing obligation.
Board Attorney Eric Bernstein said this project is part of a settlement agreement with M&M Realty and the Township.
As part of the settlement, M&M Realty is required to build 88 affordable units in the Sherman Tract area in exchange for up to 380 market-rate units on the Glen Gary property.

This application brought by M&M proposes building a development called the Edgewood Properties that will include 88 units on the 31.3 acre property(of which only 9 acres is usable) off Camplain Road near Concord Avenue and Estelle Street.
Licensed Planner for the applicant, Christine Nazzaro Cofone, noted that this a "100 percent affordable project."

There will be a mix of 16 one-bedroom, 52 two-bedroom, and 20 three-bedroom units within the development.
A new road is proposed connecting to Camplain Road to access all buildings and residential parking space. The project will also include a recreation area consisting of a playground and an open-air gazebo.
Bernstein, who called the application "sensible," said the agreement "has been approved by the courts. Both of them the fair share and this one."
This development complies with the current Sherman Redevelopment Plan adopted by the Township Committee on March 13, 2019.
