The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center will present the 6th annual Project E.A.R.T.H. (Environment • Awareness • Responsibility • Teaching • Hope) celebration on Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 12:00 Noon to 4:30 P.M. at the Environmental Education Center, 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.
Project E.A.R.T.H – Swamp Search! is an exciting scavenger hunt on the Environmental Education Center trails through Lord Stirling Park that will educate participants about the importance of the Great Swamp as an ecological and recreational resource.

Participants will head out on the trails between noon and 1:00 P.M. to find the EEC Naturalists who will provide clues and fascinating environmental facts that will help answer scavenger hunt questions. Participants with the most correct answers will be eligible to play the EEC challenge game at 3:15 P.M. for exciting prizes! Following will be the “Mamal Mania” program at 3:45 P.M. with Travis Gale and his menanagerie of live mammals.

Individuals, families, friends, scouts, and groups of all ages are invited to join the fun. Participants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. All the activities for the day are free.
The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center is located within Lord Stirling Park, in the Basking Ridge section of Bernards Township, and is nestled within 425 acres of the western portion of the Great Swamp Basin of the Passaic River. A swamp vivarium, and an environmentally based library are located within the Center itself.
Blue “BOBO (Buy One - Bring One) Fridays” bins now are located at the Environmental Education Center and Lord Stirling Stable in Basking Ridge, as well as at the Somerset County Park Commission headquarters at North Branch Park in Bridgewater. The public is invited to drop off canned food or personal-care items for donation to Somerset County food banks.
