BASKING RIDGE, NJ - The Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge has scheduled the following Naturalist-led programs to help children and adults enjoy the wonders of nature as summer approaches in Somerset County. The Environmental Education Center provides many entertaining and educational programs for children and adults year around.

ADULT & FAMILY PROGRAMS

 

Garden Discovery Tour - Chanticleer

            Wednesday, May 28 from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

            Enjoy a Naturalist-led day trip to Chanticleer, a sensational 35-acre

                        pleasure garden near Philadelphia that has been designed to

                        illustrate the beauty of the art of horticulture.

            Fee is $55 per adult and $45 per senior.

HELP!

            Sunday, June 1 from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M.

            Environmental Education Center Naturalists need help from adult

volunteers with a variety of endeavors  including gardening,

assistance with preparation for programs and special events, sign

making and more.

            The program is free.

Blue “BOBO (Buy One – Bring One) Fridays” bins now are located at the Environmental Education Center and Lord Stirling Stable in Basking Ridge, as well as at the Somerset County Park Commission headquarters at North Branch

Park in Bridgewater.  The public is invited to drop off canned food or personal-care items for donation to Somerset County food banks.
