2 Firefighters Treated After Battling 'Serious' Hillsborough Fire
The fire broke out at Reckitt & Benckiser off Route 206 on Monday afternoon.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Firefighters battled a "serious" fire on Route 206 in Hillsborough on Monday afternoon.
"Just take a minute and say a quick prayer and keep all of our First Responders in your thoughts as they battle a serious fire here in town," Mayor Doug Tomson said on his Facebook page Monday.
The three-alarm fire was reported around 1:40 p.m. at Reckitt & Benckiser, a producer of health, hygiene and home products such as Lysol.

When Hillsborough police officers arrived they found heavy smoke emanating from the roof of the Reckitt & Benckiser manufacturing plant. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in about two hours, Hillsborough Police Sergeant Stephen Nowacki said.
Two firefighters were treated for heat exposure.

The fire does not appear suspicious but remains under investigation by detectives from the Hillsborough Township Police Department and Hillsborough Township Bureau of Fire Safety, Nowacki said.
