Here's How To Get Rid Of Your Christmas Tree In Hillsborough

The township announced instructions for how to properly dispose of your tree this year.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — With Christmas now behind us, it's about time to get rid of the tree.

In Hillsborough, Boy Scout Troop 1776 is offering tree pickup for a fee.

The cost is $20 per tree or $15 per tree for you and your neighbor if you sign up together. Money raised will be used to support scout trips, to purchase gear, and support their activities in the community.

Trees will be collected on Sundays, Jan. 9, 16, and 23.

Additionally, the Somerset County Park Commission is hosting a free, live Christmas tree recycling program until the end of January 2022. Read More: Where To Recycle Your Christmas Tree In Somerset County 2021

Drop-off Site Locations

Trees can be dropped off seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., until Jan. 31, at the following two locations:

  • Colonial Park Gardens located on 156 Mettlers Road, Parking Lot F, Franklin Township
  • North Branch Park located on 355 Milltown Road at the lighted baseball field, Bridgewater
