$626K In Upgrades Coming To Hillsborough High School Stage Lights, Sound
Assemblyman Roy Freiman had sponsored legislation to get funds from the NJ Department of Education to 168 districts.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Hillsborough's High School auditorium will soon see an upgrade after receiving $626,000 in state aid for capital improvements.
Assemblyman Roy Freiman(D-16) presented the Hillsborough Board of Education with the check at the Sept. 18 meeting. Freiman sponsored legislation earlier this year that made $103 million available to eligible districts that would see reduced funding under his proposed 2023-24 budget.
"We are very pleased we are able to do this. Because you advocate for this, because you stand up and this only works because we work together and care for the children. We care for the community. This happens when we work together," said Freiman.

Superintendent Michael Volpe said the funding would be used to fix and upgrade the high school stage lighting and sound.
"Without such help, it would be impossible to address those issues in our budget any time soon. We could chip away at them over time but this will get us fixing it now," said Volpe.
