"We dont agree on a lot outside of the Board of Education except for putting students first but I appreciate you keeping me honest, keeping me straight in this position here and making sure I made the best decisions. Although it was only one term you provided a lot of value to the township," said Marini.
Oliver described his tenure as a "wild ride."

"We always put one thing first and that is the students. And I think that's what it is all about. Keeping that near and dear to our hearts," said Oliver.
Marini also thanked Gillette for his knowledge of the district.
"When I joined the board I was brand spanking new and didn't know a thing. I want to thank Greg for always stirring the pot. It's the nicest way I can put it. In meetings, he would call people out on things he didn’t think were right," said Marini. "The amount of knowledge this gentleman has about this district is insane…. I am impressed and in awe of your service to the community."
Oliver also thanked Gillette for helping him during his tenure.
"You have been a tremendous help and inspiration," said Oliver.
Gillette noted he had served for 15 years, 8 months, and 13 days. He was elected in 2007 and won five consecutive elections.
During his tenure, Gillette said he has served with 34 Board members. "I've learned from every one of them," he said.
Looking at 2023, newly-elected candidates, Joel E. Davis, Danny Lee, and Jean Trujillo will be sworn in to fill three, three-year seats.
Additionally, Jane Staats will be sworn-in to fill the one, two-year unexpired seat.
The reorganization meeting will be held on Jan. 3, 2023.
