Hillsborough Police Force Grows, 6 New Officers Hired

The additional six officers will bring the Hillsborough Township Police Department to 66 officers.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — The Hillsborough Township Police force is growing with the hiring of six new officers.

The Township Committee unanimously approved the hiring of six officers at the Tuesday night meeting.

"The positive growth in our police department is reflective of Hillsborough’s growing population," said Mayor Shawn Lipani. "I look forward to having six new officers to help keep Hillsborough, the town that we love, safe."

The additional six officers will bring the Hillsborough Township Police Department to 66 officers.

Committeeman Doug Tomson, who helped with the hiring of the officers, said "we have six extremely qualified candidates."

"Some are even from Hillsborough so it's exciting to get Hillsborough’s own to join the force. We are very lucky... that they will be joining us. They were heavily vetted and they are absolutely the cream of the crop," said Tomson.

Listed below are the new police officers, effective Dec. 13, and their annual salaries:

  • David Chehade - $54,954
  • Toni-Ann Annunziata - $61,774
  • Danek Namiotka - $54,954
  • Jason Minch - $75,411
  • Brendan Harding - $54,954
  • Thomas Nitti - $54,954
