Hillsborough School Official Receives National Award

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — Suzan Radwan, the director of special services for Hillsborough Township Public Schools, received a national award dedicated to honoring school administrators committed to improving student literacy, the district announced in a release.

Radwan received the 2023 Mary Ann Bonneau Administrator Award at the Wilson 2023 Summer Conference held in July, according to the release. The conference was hosted by Barbara and Ed Wilson, co-founders of Massachusetts-based Wilson Language Training.

The award is given to school administrators who are "extremely committed to achieving literacy for all students," specifically those who implement the Wilson Reading System within their school districts.

Radwan received the award for her work with students who struggle with dyslexia and other reading disabilities, the release said.

Radwan was nominated for the award by Cushla Rullo, the district's Wilson trainer and dyslexia therapist.

"Dr. Radwan's commitment to serving students with reading disabilities embraces a genuine structured literacy approach which is steeped in the science of reading," Rullo said. "Fidelity to this approach greatly benefits students across the entire district from pre-K through high school."
