Hillsborough Teen, Friends Raise Funds For Frontline Workers
The Somerset County Vocational and Technical High School students are collecting money, cards and video messages to send to frontline staff.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — A Hillsborough teen and her friends from Somerset County Vocational and Technical High School are fundraising for frontline workers at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset amid the new coronavirus.
"Frontline workers from the medical community are continuing to serve us by risking their lives to help patients and protect us during this COVID-19 pandemic. Their commitment causes them to make unimaginable sacrifices, and we want to show our appreciation," Grace Chen of Hillsborough said.

Chen and her friends Skylar Holland, Shanmuka Sadhu, and Pranav Potrevu are all 9th graders at Somerset County VoTech and started the fundraiser to collect money and also virtual cards and video messages to send to frontline workers and patients.
"A positive message and words of appreciation can go a long way towards brightening someone's day," Chen wrote on her GoFundMe page.

The funds will be used to assist the needs of these hospital staff, and some will be used for creating care packages.
