Hillsborough's Community Assistance Network (C.A.N.) Unveils New Logo
The logo will better reflect the C.A.N's history and mission.

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — The Hillsborough Township Community Assistance Network (C.A.N.) unveiled a new logo at the Sept. 26 Township Community meeting.
The new logo, in the shape of a soup can, represents the many thousands of cans donated to the food pantry by the Hillsborough community and distributed to families in need.
Established in 1984 in a small room in the basement of the former Municipal Building, Hillsborough’s food pantry originally made available canned goods that were donated by residents.

When the new Municipal Building opened in 1991, a larger area with a kitchen was dedicated to the food pantry. The larger space meant the pantry could expand beyond collecting cans.
“The Hillsborough C.A.N. now provides a variety of food and produce, as well as toiletries, personal care items, and holiday family meals to their clients in need,” stated Assistant Director of Social Services.

The C.A.N is run by the Social Services Department, operating closely with a magnitude of diverse organizations and local volunteers that together contribute to the program’s ongoing success and community outreach.
“The C.A.N. would not be successful without the generosity of our donors and volunteers,” said Committeeman and Social Services liaison James Ruh at the September 26th Township Committee meeting.
